Done and Done

All my painting is done! I completed the last bathroom last weekend, and I absolutely love it!

I'm in the Spirit!

I know it seems kind of early to decorate, but I had the time, and figured, I might as well do it. So I decorated for Christmas already! And I'm posting these pictures just for my sister since I know how much she likes to be a part of things even though she's so far away.

My garland that I bought from the boyscouts.

Didn't know what else to hang there for now, so a wreath will do.

My new buffet/server all decked out.

And the evening shot.

As much as it seems that I am excited for Christmas, many bad word were said while creating my masterpiece. Next year it will be a pre-lit tree!! No more fighting with fake branches and scratched up arms!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving consisted of my mom and Chip coming down for the day. It has somewhat become our tradition to do Thanksgiving with them the past few years. When we lived in La Crosse, they would drive down and visit for the weekend. Now they came to Lakeville! Curt went overboard and bought a 20 pound turkey for four people, but hey, nothing wrong with leftovers, even if they last for weeks! We also spent some time hanging our beautiful brown drapes (note them in the pictures, and thanks Chip!), watched a movie, and just enjoyed the day. We even got to have the feast on our new kitchen table and chairs that were delivered just in time for the day! Hope everyone else had a wonderful day!

The oven tied shut b/c it doesn't stay closed completely.

Three cooks in the kitchen, and enough room for them all!

The feast.

The aftermath.

Connecticut Trip

Well, I know I have been slacking and haven't blogged in forever, so I will update you accordingly on everything we've been doing. The first weekend in November, Curt and I headed out to Groton, CT to visit 'Those Crazy Jacinto's'! We had an absolute blast visiting the family. We arrived on Friday afternoon at about lunchtime in Boston, picked up the rental car, and my only obligation while in Boston was hitting up Cheers. So Curt plugged in the GPS and we were off! I had a lovely burger and beer, checked out the joint, took a few photos, and I was happy.

After our short visit in Boston, we hit the road and made the trek to Groton. We did many things 'Eva style' why we were there. Saturday we went to the Children's Museum and Eva showed us where she played once a week.

My only other requirement of the trip was that I had lobster on the East Coast. So Saturday night we had a family outing to Groton Inn & Suites (I think). The evening was a blast, and the only downfall was that I learned that I am not a fan of lobster. But no worries, I ordered stuffed lobster, and I liked the stuffed part of it!

We went to Eva's tumbling class on Monday morning, and finished the day with dinner at Mystic Pizza (where the movie Mystic Pizza was filmed). Other than that, we did a whole lot of hanging out with the kids, and that's all I wanted to do, so here are some more randoms.

CT or bust

Although my last post was very bitter, I am super stoked to be heading to CT to see my family!! I can't wait for a long weekend on the coast! Hold on to your horses Jacintos!

Married, with cats...

So I'm just curious as to whether or not all other married women who own pet cats experience the same things I experience. For some silly reason, my husband deems himself exempt from having to pick up cat puke. Tonight I didn't get home until a little after 7pm. My husband was nice and made dinner, and actually had it ready by the time I got home. After dinner, he went upstairs to go to the bathroom and said, "Oh no, cat puke." I asked if it just happened, or if it was old, he replied, "Can't tell, looks a little crusty." Mind you, he had been home about an hour already, walked upstairs to change out of his work clothes, and definately had to step over the cat puke to walk into the bedroom. Now am I silly, or is this ridiculous? I swear he acts like he never sees the freaking cat puke!! Needless to say, I was the one that cleaned up the cat puke, b/c I care about our brand new carpet. He just stepped over it again, on his way to the bathroom. Am I the only lucky one with a husband who graciously lets me pick up every pile of cat puke? And not to mention, finds himself so special he never has to scoop out the litter box. And he wonders why these are the last of the family pets in our family...
